Chase Anthony

Chase Anthony was destined to be a great hunter from the very start. He grew up watching his dad hunt big game all over the country and tagged along on many of those hunting trips. Eventually he was old enough to join in on the hunts and immediately took to it. In between football and baseball practices, homework, and working on the family farm, he practiced target shooting and hunted small game in his backyard and on his grandparent’s pheasant farm. Over the years, he began dreaming about hosting his own hunting show and traveling the world hunting big game. He wanted to inspire other kids to hunt and get outdoors. In 2020 his dad took him to Africa on a hunting Safari. In 2021, amidst the pandemic, they returned to Africa for a second time. While preparing for an Impala and Kudu hunt, a lion tag became available and that was the beginning of their quest for the Big 5.
Chase and his dad finished their African hunt and Chase successfully harvested his first of the Big 5. They returned to Africa a third time with additional permits and a dream to hunt some of the most dangerous game on the planet. In August of 2023 Chase and his dad set off on a 3 week hunting safari to Zambia. However, the beginning of their trip was plagued with misfortune. Their flight was delayed, causing a domino effect and they soon found themselves at the mercy of the airlines. The first night of their trip was spent sleeping on the airport floor. The next day they made it halfway to their destination, just to learn that their carry-on, which they had been forced to check, was missing. That meant that some of their hunting gear was not going to make it to Africa in time for their hunt.
After two days of waiting for flights and eventually being rerouted, they made it to Zambia. Losing two hunting days meant that they had lost precious time and that their dreams of the Big 5 might have to wait. Trying to make the best of a bad situation, they persevered and by the middle of their third week they, miraculously, had 4 of the Big 5. Time was running out to get the elusive leopard and crocodile. They were nearly ready to pack it in and change their flight home, but after calling the airline, they learned that no outgoing flights were to be found. They took that as a sign that they were meant to stay, and spent the last 3 nights trying to outwit one of the smartest animals they’d ever encountered. On their very last night in camp, Chase finally had his opportunity. He made the shot that would bring him a world record. He became the youngest person in the world to complete not only the Big 5 but the Serious 7.
In the weeks following his success, Chase began setting his next goal, the North American 29. This next goal is going to be even more of a challenge. He plans on dedicating the next 4 years to pursuing this monumental goal, but achieving it is going to be extremely difficult. Chase will have to fit in some of the most taxing hunts of his life between school, sports, friends, family, and helping out on the family farm. He hopes to join the ranks of the greatest hunters in history, and ultimately inspire other youth to get outside and benefit from a sport that has been passed down through the generations. Chase is going to need help getting there. Chase has partnered with Youth-Outdoors and Scorpion Rifle Systems to offer you a chance at winning a custom Scorpion Rifle. Adults 18 and older are entered in the giveaway when they become donors.
